If I am not an in network provider with your insurance company we can still work together.  I would suggest contacting your insurance company to find out whether they reimburse for services from an out of network provider. There are some pros and cons to using insurance for counseling services.  An obvious benefit to using insurance to pay for counseling is that one's out of pocket cost may be reduced.  In order to receive insurance benefits counselors must submit a diagnosis to the insurance company. This reduces privacy. The number and type of counseling sessions may be limited depending on the diagnosis.  This diagnosis may impact one's ability to receive medical coverage in the future.  I encourage you to explore the pros and cons by either checking with your insurance provider or doing your own research to decide what will be the best option for you.
